Mental health issues are prevalent in the workplace. According to the World Health Organization, depression and anxiety disorders cost the global economy US$1 trillion each year in lost productivity.

Employers have a legal responsibility to support employees' mental health. In many countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, employers are required to provide a safe and healthy work environment, which includes supporting employees' mental health.

Physical inactivity is a major issue in the UK. According to the NHS, only 67% of men and 55% of women in the UK meet the recommended physical activity guidelines.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 1 in 4 people in the world will experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives.

Mental health issues are often stigmatized in the workplace. Many employees may feel ashamed or embarrassed to talk about their mental health struggles, which can prevent them from seeking help or support.

Obesity rates in the UK are among the highest in Europe. According to the World Health Organisation, 63% of adults in the UK were overweight or obese in 2019.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health issues became more prevalent. A study conducted in the UK found that 43.9% of adults experienced anxiety and/or depression during the pandemic.

‘It's more important now than ever that workplaces implement the right support and education for their employees to combat this health epidemic we are going through. We have the tools and employers hold the access power. Let’s work together!’ - Harry Rowbotham Founder & Wellbeing Director
